Why Portland Homeowners Choose Us
Local Expertise
We work across Portland and the Portland metro year-round. We know the region's trees, its slopes, and exactly what eight months of rain does to hardware that wasn't chosen for it.
In-House Crews
We never subcontract our core work. Our trained, full-time crews handle design, installation, aiming, and service — consistent quality and one point of accountability.
Built for Oregon
Solid brass and copper fixtures that patina instead of corroding, waterproof silicone-filled connectors instead of twist caps, and properly sized cable. It's why our systems outlast the big-box kits by decades.
Priced Before You Commit
Every project gets a fixture-by-fixture plan and a fixed-price proposal before anything is ordered. No deposits against a bottom-line number and no surprises on the invoice.
About Portland
Outdoor Lighting in Portland, OR
Portland is our home market, and the city's housing stock makes for genuinely varied lighting work. A 1912 Craftsman in Irvington with deep eaves and exposed rafter tails asks for a completely different design than a mid-century in Eastmoreland, a modern build in the West Hills, or a skinny new infill house in North Portland. We design to the architecture in front of us rather than applying a template — and the plan names every fixture and its position before you commit to anything.
The city's mature tree canopy is the other defining factor. Portland's Douglas firs, big-leaf maples, and Japanese maples are the best lighting subjects in the region, and most yards do nothing with them. Uplighting a fir, moonlighting down through a maple canopy, or silhouetting a Japanese maple against a lit fence transforms a yard far more than any number of ground-level fixtures. We mount in living trees with arborist-friendly hardware and cable slack for growth.
Our most common Portland projects are architectural uplighting on front elevations, layered garden and path lighting, patio and deck lighting for outdoor rooms, security lighting on approaches and side yards, and repair or replacement of aging systems installed by someone else. Homeowners across Southeast, Northeast, North, and Southwest Portland call us for systems built to last through Northwest winters. Contact us for a free consultation anywhere in the city.
Reviews
What Portland Homeowners Say
Real reviews from real Portland-area homeowners. See the difference quality craftsmanship makes.
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”
Landscape & Garden Lighting
Mark R.
Lake Oswego
“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”
Architectural & Facade Lighting
Jennifer L.
Irvington, Portland
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”
Path & Walkway Lighting
David S.
West Linn
“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

Our Process
How We Work in Portland
Free Design Consultation
We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.
Your Lighting Plan
We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.
Clean, Low-Voltage Install
Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.
Night Aiming & Ongoing Care
We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.
