Lighting Repair & Maintenance in Portland, OR
Outdoor lighting systems drift. Fixtures get bumped by mowers and settle out of aim, plantings grow up and swallow the light, connectors corrode, transformers fail, and a zone goes dark and stays dark because nobody knows where to start. PDX Outdoor Lighting repairs and maintains outdoor lighting throughout the Portland metro — including plenty of systems we didn't install.
Most service calls come down to a short list of causes. Failed low-quality connectors are the single most common — twist-on wire caps buried in wet Oregon soil corrode and fail, where waterproof silicone-filled connectors don't. After that it's voltage drop on runs that were wired too long or too thin to begin with, transformers that have reached end of life, water intrusion into fixtures that were never properly rated, and simple lamp failure. We diagnose with a meter rather than by guessing, so you find out what's actually wrong instead of paying to replace parts that were fine.

What Our Clients Say
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”
Landscape & Garden Lighting
Mark R.
Lake Oswego
“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”
Architectural & Facade Lighting
Jennifer L.
Irvington, Portland
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”
Path & Walkway Lighting
David S.
West Linn
“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

We're also straight with you about what's worth saving. Some systems need an afternoon of connector repairs and re-aiming and will run happily for another decade. Others were built with composite fixtures and undersized cable, and pouring money into them is throwing it away — in which case we'll tell you that plainly and show you what a rebuild costs, rather than selling you a repair we know won't hold.

More About Our Lighting Repair & Maintenance Work
One upgrade is worth calling out on its own: converting an older halogen landscape system to LED. Halogen MR16 lamps draw roughly five to seven times the power of an equivalent LED and burn out on a schedule measured in seasons, which on a thirty-fixture system means real money and a recurring afternoon on a ladder. Retrofitting often lets an existing transformer carry substantially more fixtures than before, because the load per fixture drops so sharply — so a conversion frequently pays for expansion you thought you couldn't power.
We repair and maintain outdoor lighting across Portland, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Milwaukie, Gresham, Aloha, and the surrounding metro. Contact PDX Outdoor Lighting to get your system diagnosed and back to full brightness.
Our Process
How We Work
Free Design Consultation
We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.
Your Lighting Plan
We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.
Clean, Low-Voltage Install
Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.
Night Aiming & Ongoing Care
We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.
