Landscape Lighting Repair in West Linn, OR
West Linn's heavy canopy and steep ground are what make it beautiful to light, and also what wears systems out. Roots lift and pull cable, fixtures disappear under groundcover, falling branches crack lenses, and hillside soil migrates downhill every winter. A system that was well placed ten years ago can find itself lighting the inside of a hedge.
Most West Linn repairs are a mix of fixing what's broken and restoring what's drifted. We find the faults with a meter, repair the connections and cable, and then re-aim and reposition fixtures for the landscape as it stands today — often the difference between a system that technically works and one that looks the way it was meant to.
Local Know-How
What Matters in West Linn
Roots and groundcover
Under heavy canopy, roots lift cable and groundcover swallows fixtures. We free buried fixtures, reroute cable clear of root zones, and raise path lights back above the planting.
Erosion on steep lots
Hillside soil moves every winter and takes shallow cable with it. We re-bury exposed runs and reset fixtures on footings that stay put.
Step lighting on stepped entries
On a steep West Linn lot the step lights are the fixtures that matter most. We prioritise getting every stair lit again, and fix the wiring behind the wall rather than just swapping the fixture.
Reviews
What Homeowners Say
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”
Landscape & Garden Lighting
Mark R.
Lake Oswego
“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”
Architectural & Facade Lighting
Jennifer L.
Irvington, Portland
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”
Path & Walkway Lighting
David S.
West Linn
“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

Lighting Repair & Maintenance

How It Works
From Consultation to Installed
Free Design Consultation
We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.
Your Lighting Plan
We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.
Clean, Low-Voltage Install
Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.
Night Aiming & Ongoing Care
We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.
Questions
Lighting Repair in West Linn: FAQ
My lights still work but the yard looks dark — is that a repair?
Often, yes. In West Linn the trees and planting grow fast, and fixtures end up buried or aimed at a trunk that's now in the wrong place. Re-aiming and repositioning is a repair, and on a mature lot it's frequently the one that makes the biggest difference.
Can you service a system another company installed?
Yes — that's a large part of what we do. We'll assess whatever's there regardless of who put it in, tell you what's failing and why, and give you options. No obligation to have us rebuild anything.
Why did part of my system go dark?
Most often a failed connector, a lamp at end of life, or voltage drop on an overlong run. Less often a failed transformer or water in a fixture. A section going dark together usually points to one connection upstream, which is exactly the sort of thing a meter finds in minutes and guesswork doesn't.
My lights look dim at the far end of the run. Why?
Voltage drop — the far fixtures aren't receiving enough voltage because the cable is too long, too thin, or too heavily loaded for a single run. Fixes range from re-tapping to a higher transformer voltage terminal, to splitting the run, to re-cabling that leg. We'll measure the actual voltage at the fixture and size the fix to it.
How often should outdoor lighting be maintained?
An annual visit suits most Portland-area systems. Plants grow fast here, moss and debris cloud lenses, and fixtures drift out of aim over a season. Yearly service to re-aim, clean, check connections, and adjust the timer keeps a system looking like it did the week it was installed.
