Landscape Lighting Repair in Hillsboro, OR
Because so much of Hillsboro is new, a good share of the repair work here is on lighting that failed sooner than it should have. Box kits and builder-grade fixtures installed with new homes often don't survive more than a few wet winters — corroded connectors, failed transformers and plastic fixtures that cloud or crack.
Hillsboro's managed communities are the other half. HOA common areas, entry monuments and shared paths tend to go dark one fixture at a time, and without a maintenance schedule nobody notices until residents start complaining. We repair what's failed and can set up scheduled visits so it stays lit.
Local Know-How
What Matters in Hillsboro
Kit systems failing early
Connectors and plastic fixtures are the usual weak points. We replace them with sealed connectors and brass fixtures instead of like-for-like parts.
Undersized transformers
Kit transformers are often at their limit from day one. Dim fixtures at the end of a run usually mean an overloaded circuit, which we correct.
HOA lighting that fades
Common-area lighting degrades gradually. Scheduled maintenance keeps entries and shared paths consistently lit.
Reviews
What Homeowners Say
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”
Landscape & Garden Lighting
Mark R.
Lake Oswego
“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”
Architectural & Facade Lighting
Jennifer L.
Irvington, Portland
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”
Path & Walkway Lighting
David S.
West Linn
“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

Lighting Repair & Maintenance

How It Works
From Consultation to Installed
Free Design Consultation
We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.
Your Lighting Plan
We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.
Clean, Low-Voltage Install
Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.
Night Aiming & Ongoing Care
We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.
Questions
Lighting Repair in Hillsboro: FAQ
Do you maintain HOA and common-area lighting in Hillsboro?
Yes. We repair failed fixtures, connections and controls in common areas and at entry monuments, and offer scheduled maintenance so the community stays consistently lit rather than going dark one fixture at a time.
Can you service a system another company installed?
Yes — that's a large part of what we do. We'll assess whatever's there regardless of who put it in, tell you what's failing and why, and give you options. No obligation to have us rebuild anything.
Why did part of my system go dark?
Most often a failed connector, a lamp at end of life, or voltage drop on an overlong run. Less often a failed transformer or water in a fixture. A section going dark together usually points to one connection upstream, which is exactly the sort of thing a meter finds in minutes and guesswork doesn't.
My lights look dim at the far end of the run. Why?
Voltage drop — the far fixtures aren't receiving enough voltage because the cable is too long, too thin, or too heavily loaded for a single run. Fixes range from re-tapping to a higher transformer voltage terminal, to splitting the run, to re-cabling that leg. We'll measure the actual voltage at the fixture and size the fix to it.
How often should outdoor lighting be maintained?
An annual visit suits most Portland-area systems. Plants grow fast here, moss and debris cloud lenses, and fixtures drift out of aim over a season. Yearly service to re-aim, clean, check connections, and adjust the timer keeps a system looking like it did the week it was installed.
