Landscape Lighting Repair in Lake Oswego, OR

Many Lake Oswego landscape lighting systems were well built in the first place — brass fixtures, sensible layouts — and are now fifteen or twenty years old. The most common repair here isn't a broken system, it's a tired one: halogen lamps that have dimmed and yellowed, fixtures whose aim no longer matches a tree that has doubled in size, and connections near the lake that have taken on water.

That makes a lot of Lake Oswego work a refresh rather than a rebuild. A well-made brass fixture can usually be kept, re-lamped with an LED that draws a fraction of the power, and re-aimed at the tree as it is now. We test the whole system first and tell you which parts are worth keeping.

Local Know-How

What Matters in Lake Oswego

01

Lakefront and low-lying moisture

Connections close to the water stay damp through the wet season. Any splice we find that isn't sealed gets replaced with a silicone-filled waterproof connector rated for burial.

02

Trees that outgrew their lighting

A fir lit well fifteen years ago is often now lit from inside its own canopy. Re-aiming and repositioning fixtures for the tree as it stands today is one of the most effective repairs we do.

03

Halogen to LED without replacing fixtures

Older brass systems are usually worth keeping. Swapping halogen for LED lamps cuts the load on the transformer and the power bill, and often fixes dim runs in the process.

What Homeowners Say

June 2026
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”

“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”

April 2026
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”

“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

How It Works

From Consultation to Installed

01

Free Design Consultation

We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.

02

Your Lighting Plan

We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.

03

Clean, Low-Voltage Install

Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.

04

Night Aiming & Ongoing Care

We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.

Questions

Lighting Repair in Lake Oswego: FAQ

Can you upgrade my existing Lake Oswego system to LED?

Usually, yes. If the fixtures are good-quality brass, we can re-lamp them with LED, check the transformer is suited to the lower load, and re-aim everything while we're there. It's often the best value repair there is on an older system.

Can you service a system another company installed?

Yes — that's a large part of what we do. We'll assess whatever's there regardless of who put it in, tell you what's failing and why, and give you options. No obligation to have us rebuild anything.

Why did part of my system go dark?

Most often a failed connector, a lamp at end of life, or voltage drop on an overlong run. Less often a failed transformer or water in a fixture. A section going dark together usually points to one connection upstream, which is exactly the sort of thing a meter finds in minutes and guesswork doesn't.

My lights look dim at the far end of the run. Why?

Voltage drop — the far fixtures aren't receiving enough voltage because the cable is too long, too thin, or too heavily loaded for a single run. Fixes range from re-tapping to a higher transformer voltage terminal, to splitting the run, to re-cabling that leg. We'll measure the actual voltage at the fixture and size the fix to it.

How often should outdoor lighting be maintained?

An annual visit suits most Portland-area systems. Plants grow fast here, moss and debris cloud lenses, and fixtures drift out of aim over a season. Yearly service to re-aim, clean, check connections, and adjust the timer keeps a system looking like it did the week it was installed.
