Landscape Lighting in Beaverton, OR

Beaverton landscape lighting splits into two kinds of job. In established neighborhoods like Cedar Hills, West Slope and Raleigh Hills, the planting has had decades to fill in — mature trees, deep beds, real structure — and the work is about layering: cross-lighting the specimen trees, picking out the best of the beds, and lighting the paths between them so the yard reads with depth after dark.

In the newer subdivisions around Murray Hill and Sexton Mountain the landscaping is still young, so the house and a handful of key trees carry the design while the beds catch up. We build those systems with spare transformer capacity and accessible cable runs, so adding fixtures as the garden matures is an afternoon's work rather than a rebuild.

Local Know-How

What Matters in Beaverton

01

Light the yard you'll have

Young trees in newer Beaverton subdivisions grow quickly. We set fixtures back from the trunk and use adjustable mounts, so a tree that's lit well this year isn't being blasted from point-blank range in five.

02

Let the mature trees lead

Established Beaverton lots often have one or two large conifers or maples that dominate the yard. Cross-lit from two or three positions, a single tree does more for the property than a dozen fixtures scattered through the beds.

03

Size it to expand

We size the transformer above today's load so a back patio or side path can be added later as its own zone, without replacing the core of the system.

Reviews

What Homeowners Say

June 2026
“Other quotes were a fixture count on paper. These guys walked the yard, explained what each light was doing and why, and the plan matched what we got.”

May 2026
“Our 1912 Craftsman vanished after dark. They lit the columns and the gable and left everything between them dark. The contrast is the whole thing.”

Architectural & Facade Lighting

April 2026
“Steep lot, and the walk down was dangerous in the wet. Staggered path lights plus lights in the step risers — fewer fixtures than we were quoted elsewhere, better result.”

March 2026
“Half our system had been dark for two years. They found it in twenty minutes — corroded connectors — and told me the transformer was fine. Could have sold me a new one.”

How It Works

From Consultation to Installed

01

Free Design Consultation

We walk your property with you, talk through what you want the space to feel like after dark, and note the trees, architecture, and pathways worth lighting — no pressure, no obligation.

02

Your Lighting Plan

We put the design on paper fixture by fixture — what gets lit, from where, with which beam spread — and price it as a fixed proposal. Nothing is ordered and no deposit is taken until you've approved it.

03

Clean, Low-Voltage Install

Our crews hand-dig and tuck 12-volt cable below grade, set transformers discreetly, and mount solid brass and copper fixtures — with your lawn and beds left the way we found them.

04

Night Aiming & Ongoing Care

We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye, set your timer or app schedule, and walk the finished system with you — then keep it dialed in with optional annual maintenance.

Questions

Landscape Lighting in Beaverton: FAQ

Do you work in both older and newer Beaverton neighborhoods?

Yes, and they call for different designs. Established yards in Cedar Hills, West Slope and Raleigh Hills get layered lighting built around mature trees and beds. Newer homes around Murray Hill and Sexton Mountain get a design that leans on the architecture and a few key trees, with capacity left to expand as the planting fills in.

How much does landscape lighting cost in Portland?

Pricing follows the design — fixture count, transformer size, cable runs, and material. A focused front-yard design with a handful of tree uplights and path fixtures starts in the low thousands; a full wraparound system with multiple zones costs more. Your written proposal breaks out per-fixture pricing so you can scale zones up or down and see exactly what changes.

Why low-voltage instead of standard 120-volt lighting?

Low-voltage 12V systems are safer to work around, far easier to adjust or expand later, and don't require the conduit and permitting that line-voltage work does. The transformer steps household current down at one point, and everything beyond that is low-risk cable you can garden around. It's the standard for residential landscape lighting for good reason.

Will digging the cable damage my lawn and beds?

No. We hand-cut a narrow slit in the turf, tuck the cable below grade, and close it behind us — within a week or two you can't tell where we worked. We route around root zones rather than trenching through them, which matters a lot on Portland lots with mature trees.

What color temperature do you use?

2700K warm white on essentially everything. It flatters bark, stone, and foliage, and it reads as inviting rather than clinical. Cooler temperatures around 4000K make plants look grey and green foliage look sickly. We also keep the temperature consistent across the whole system — mismatched fixtures are the fastest way to make a yard look pieced together.
